Hotel Transylvania 3

OK so I'm sure you can assume that this was a movie I'm taking my kids to go see. Like any good dad we have to sometimes the movies with our kids that we think they're gonna like. In this particular case much to my surprise I found it to be a movie I find rather enjoyable. I thought the movie was very well done and thoroughly entertaining. I stayed to watch the credits and much to my surprise the voices were a Who's Who of The Hollywood acting elite. While probably not a movie I would run to go see on my own in a theater it's certainly more than something you can tolerate going to take your kids to see an all honesty if I was totally bored and it was on Netflix or HBO I probably would just leave it on for some background entertainment. I would say it's very surprising but I'm gonna give this four out of five stars. As always happy movie going and any comments you have are truly appreciated on this or any other movie commentary I might have.

Citizen Kane review

Yes you are reading the title correctly. I thought why not Watch and then offer a review of what is considered by many to be the best movie of all time, citizen Kane. If you don't want spoiler alerts then this is where you need to stop and watch the movie. Having been quite sometime since I last saw this movie I felt it was very interesting giving all the changes in today's society. The movie is essentially very simple and it's overall premise. It was applicable then and it's applicable today. Despite having to suffer through my children listening to songs like Gucci gang and watching the Kardashian's live in inexplicable and somewhat foolish lifestyle there is one principal that very much remains true. Why money can buy a lot of things in life it's not going to buy you the ultimate happiness. Don't get me wrong, money does a lot to help. Your forward you the privilege of not being able to do things you would otherwise rather not do. It affords you the pr...

Solo - Star Wars

Like many of you I am super excited at the newest installment of the Star Wars series which is officially released this week. While this is not my review of it is something of a preview of the movie. As talking to several people that have already seen it and so far the reviews are exceptionally good. FUN FACT: During production, the film was titled "RED CUP" True story. #SoloAStarWarsStory SHOUT OUT to #GeorgeLucas for no particular reason other than being a cinematic genius & I can't imagine what my life would have been without him. #heIStheforce I am looking very forward to seeing this offer to lease and intend to post a rather detailed review which will be followed up by a second review as of course I will see this a few times on the big screen.

Beirut - the movie

They route is a movie I otherwise might not of taken the time to see if not for the share DNA of the beloved Jason Bourne series. Unfortunately that's where the similarities begin an end. While the movie does have a good plot and certainly provides an ample level of entertainment this is a movie better suited for cable TV or if you have #MoviePass certainly a viable option. My biggest disappointment was the lack of action. I don't know why I expected the movie to be a little bit of a more high-octane film that it turned out to be but it was more a story that an action so. That said it's clearly a three out of five stars.

Avengers review part 2

I wanted to take a little bit of time to reflect on the movie. After thinking about it for a day I think this was one of the better avenger movies they put out but the cast was extraordinarily broad. We had guardians of the galaxy, Iron Man, Spiderman, the traditional avengers and the black panther. I think many children under 13 which find this movie had too much going on to fully appreciate the plot but given the high intensity of action would enjoy the movie much the same. Now for a bit of a spoiler alert. If you don't wanna catch a glimpse into the plot them please don't read further. To me this sort of felt like the Empire strikes back of the avengers series. Clearly the cliffhanger leaves no doubt as to a sequel and ended I'm looking only be considered a very concerning and downbeat note. We all know in the end the superheroes will prevail but it ending of this magnitude is something we have not seen before. Even revisiting characters like Bucky in a positive light wa...

Ready Player One - 4/5 stars

Ready player one is an interesting movie and one the kids are going to like. It's set in our virtual reality game somewhere in the not terribly just in future where people are immersed in a virtual world in the form of their avatars. Ironically for my nine-year-old this movie is not terribly far from the truth. The movie was definitely suitable for children 10 and up in my opinion with a small amount of less than desirable language but not so much as where it would become a major concern. Without offering anything in the way of spoilers one can expect that with Steven Spielberg on this project The plot would be well constructed with a nice amount of twists and unexpected turns throughout the movie. There is a tremendous amount of reference to the early 80s in the Donna video games that some of us older folks are uses been quite a lot of time in arcades can really appreciate. Certainly references to the game astroids not giving away any part of the movie as anyone I've ever play...
