Ready player one is an interesting movie and one the kids are going to like. It's set in our virtual reality game somewhere in the not terribly just in future where people are immersed in a virtual world in the form of their avatars. Ironically for my nine-year-old this movie is not terribly far from the truth. The movie was definitely suitable for children 10 and up in my opinion with a small amount of less than desirable language but not so much as where it would become a major concern. Without offering anything in the way of spoilers one can expect that with Steven Spielberg on this project The plot would be well constructed with a nice amount of twists and unexpected turns throughout the movie. There is a tremendous amount of reference to the early 80s in the Donna video games that some of us older folks are uses been quite a lot of time in arcades can really appreciate. Certainly references to the game astroids not giving away any part of the movie as anyone I've ever played it growing up nose the game was absolutely perfect the way it was created. Overall I would say this is the movie definitely worth seeing. I saw it once by myself and like it enough to take my kids afterwards to see it a second time and noticed quite a few things that I had missed the first time. The visual effects and digital artistry in this movie are truly spectacular. For those gigs like me who stated the end and watch the credit amount of digital artists that were used in creating this movie is simply astronomical and it shows. While I don't think the movie will win much in the way of critical Acclaim I do think in terms of visual affects this is a movie to keep on the radar screen. That being said if you've got some time on your hands or have a MoviePass card and want to see something entertaining while it's over two hours long I would say this is a good movie to go see. I would give it a rating of four out of five stars.
